We have been assisting clients with the assessment of wildlife impacts and identification and management of bird and wildlife hazards worldwide for more than 12 years. We provide our clients with:
  • Wind energy project wildlife impact assessments and risk mitigation
  • Bird and wildlife impact studies
  • Airport and wind farm wildlife assessments and management
  • Environmental consulting, planning and management (NEPA support)
  • Radar-based bird detection systems
  • Avian radar surveys and risk assessments
  • Airfield and industrial bird and wildlife control
  • BASH management

Our team of radar ornithologists, environmental biologists, statisticians, radar system and software engineers are specialists in the development of innovative technologies and algorithms to power state-of-the-art avian radar systems and conducting avian and wildlife studies.

GMI has a proven track record of quality performance offering cutting edge remote sensing technology and expert staff to resolve your wildlife-development issues. Our expertise has helped:

  • U.S. federal and foreign governments
  • Domestic and international commercial carriers
  • Airports
  • Wind power developers
  • Utility companies
  • Landfill operators
  • Mining firms
  • Industrial facilities

GMI’s program was established to develop remote sensing systems to reduce bird strikes to aircraft and collect data for environmental applications. GMI has many landmark achievements in the Bird Aircraft Strike Hazard (BASH) industry. GMI’s ground-breaking remote sensing program came online in 1994. Since then, staff members have developed many new technologies and processes to meet the diverse needs of its clients, including onshore and offshore avian and wildlife studies for wind energy developments.

GMI continues to research, modify, and increase the capabilities of its systems (e.g., Mobile Avian Radar System®), services, and technologies in order to provide superior quality solutions to its clients.
