GMI’s Marine Sciences Department provides the comprehensive marine environmental services clients need for the purposes of planning, compliance, mitigation, and resources documentation. 

Our professional scientists are recognized in the fields of marine and wildlife biology, chemistry, ecology, oceanography, ecotoxicology, biostatistics, and scientific diving. We offer comprehensive services, with experience in the Pacific, Atlantic and Indian oceans, the Gulf of Mexico, Caribbean, Mediterranean, and Great Lakes.

We have successfully conducted marine resources assessments, marine mammal and sea turtle assessments, shipboard and aerial surveys, density estimations, protected species, spatial modeling, NEPA-compliance and documentation, essential fish habitat (EFH) consultation and assessments, Section 7 consultations, take permit authorizations, seagrass restoration, marine habitat characterizations, coastal zone management planning, wetland evaluation and delineation, marine resources mapping, and collection and interpretation of remotely sensed data. Our experience has proven crucial in programs involving marine ecosystem study, conservation and management, and environmental stewardship.
