GMI’s environmental experts have extensive experience nationwide in designing, implementing and preparing oil spill prevention control and countermeasure programs. As a result, we know what the regulators want and, more importantly, what you need for cost-effective compliance with the SPCC program. If your facility requires an SPCC Plan, our team will:
Our experts have the necessary knowledge to navigate the complex SPCC process and the tools needed to prepare the plan in a timely, cost-effective manner. We maintain strong working relationships with agency officials who help keep us abreast of potential regulatory changes so we can keep our clients informed and prepared.
GMI was contracted for review and certification of the Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasures Plan for Weber Aircraft, Inc. Weber Aircraft manufactures aircraft seats for both military and commercial clients. Various solvents and acids are used in the process, and this plan provided a guideline for action to be taken in case of a spill of any of these chemicals.
GMI prepared Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasures Plan (SPCCP) and accompanying Installation Spill Contingency Plan (ISCP)for each of the U.S. Army Reserve Centers (USARCs) in Oklahoma and Arkansas. The preparation of these documents included the collection or generation of material common to all the USARCs; this included spill response action items, equipment, planning, training, reporting responsibilities, information on chemicals, response procedures, drills, and reporting formats. Site visits were made to all facilities to collect site specific information including location, facility function(s), assessment, and inventory of all storage areas of potentially hazardous material; location of material safety data sheets (MSDS); history of spills at the facility; preparedness with regard to equipment and materials to be used in case of a spill; and recommendations for spill prevention. These Plans are intended to be dynamic documents to be revised and updated as needed to reflect current staff and site functions.
GMI prepared the SPCC Plan for this facility by conducting a site visit and asking questions pertinent to oil storage, oil loading and unloading operations, oil spills, site conditions, obtaining a set of engineering plans, performing calculations pertaining to secondary containment, inspecting patterns of drainage and pints of discharge, and confirming the final disposition of flows entering the sand oil water separators. Once complete, GMI secured certification of the SPCC plan from a licensed Texas Professional Engineer and submitted the certified Plan to The City of San Antonio Environmental Services Department for signature.
