GMI attends EUCOM in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany

PLANO, TEXAS (January 18, 2008)

GMI was invited to participate in the EUCOM Joint Environmental Workshop, a biennial conference with a purpose of discussing current environmental trends and regulations facing the US Armed Forces in Europe. Also, there was significant discussion throughout the conference regarding AFRICOM. Attendees included 275 Armed Forces personnel and contractors representing approximately 22 firms. GMI presented an exhibit with the intent of developing new contacts and business leads. GMI staff (Ashley Watkins, Kurt Hellauer, Ken Deslarzes) met branch chiefs, environmental directors, natural and cultural resource managers, program managers, as well as some contracting experts. These individuals were from Navy, Army, Air Force, Army Corps of Engineers, and the European Command. During a workshop presentation, NAVFAC Atlantic recognized GMI’s Marine Resources Assessment of the Mediterranean Sea a “great resource.” Navy distributed several copies of this recently completed MRA to attendees. Also, GMI services and project experience presented through our exhibit and brochures generated interest. Many attendees requested follow up and some invited us to visit with them at their installation.
