GMI Wins COMPEC

PLANO, TEXAS (July 2, 2008)

Geo-Marine has been notified that it has won the US Air Force Reserve Command’s (ARFC) Command-wide O&M Project Execution Contract (COMPEC). This contract, which is for construction and engineering activities supporting the sustainment, restoration and modernization program (S/R&M) is valued at $97.5M; term is 12 months with four, one-year option years. The client has the ability to increase contract capacity to $247M.

“We are pleased for this opportunity to continue our service to this important client.” said Mark Tanner, PE, GMI President and Chief Operating Officer. “We are gratified that Reserve Command places confidence in our staff and team to continue our relationship with them.” GMI has executed projects for Reserve Command for the last 10 years and has provided full-service planning, design and construction services supporting AFRC’s O&M program since 2002.

AFRC program manager and Vice President Larry Kaminsky, PE, noted “We’re pleased to be continuing as a partner to AFRC and help them accomplish their goals for the S/R&M program. We have worked at 11 AFRC bases in the last six years and this contract will allow us to continue the work we’ve been successfully performing. They have told us that we’ve done great work for them and they’ve developed a level of confidence in us to meet their needs cost effectively.”

The contract is primarily for use by AFRC host installations and AFRC tenant locations but may be used by other federal agencies.

Task orders may be issued for a wide variety of S/R&M work including facility renovations and all subsystems (mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire detection/ suppression, structural, architectural, etc.) and infrastructure repair and construction (utilities, pavements, fuels).
