The
Department of Energy’s (DOE) Federal Energy Management
Program (FEMP) awarded Geo-Marine a 3-year IDIQ (with 2
option years) contract to provide technical assistance for
feasibility studies, design, and cost analysis of energy
projects at federal facilities. Projects will include
renewable project assistance, sustainable new building
design project assistance, retrofit project assistance,
distributed generation with combined heat and power project
assistance, and emerging technologies.
GMI’s assistance will enable federal government agencies to be compliant with Executive Order 13423, “Promoting Sustainable Environmental Stewardship throughout the Federal Government,” and ensure that new construction and major renovations comply with the “Guiding Principles for Federal Leadership in High Performance and Sustainable Buildings” set forth in the Federal Leadership in High Performance and Sustainable Buildings Memorandum of Understanding (2006).
Larry Kaminsky, V.P. of Geo-Marine’s Energy Services Group, stated that this contract demonstrates a vote of confidence in GMI’s ability to bring best of class support for new and emerging requirements for DOE and its clients.
